EverStonepoint ("we", "us", "our") is an independent Australian travel publisher offering route guides, free-camp listings, 4WD touring notes and caravan gear advice. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your personal information openly and responsibly.

We aim to collect only what we need to run the site and stay in touch with people who want to hear from us. The information we may collect includes:
- Newsletter details — the email address you provide when you subscribe to The Campfire Dispatch.
- Contact form details — your name, email address and the content of any message you send us through a contact or feedback form.
- User submissions — camp notes, route feedback, comments or other content you choose to share with us.
- Analytics and technical data — your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed and approximate location, collected automatically as you browse.

We use the personal information we collect to:
- send you the newsletter you subscribed to and let you unsubscribe at any time;

- publish user submissions where you have shared them for that purpose;
- understand which routes, camps and guides are most useful so we can improve our content;
- keep the website secure, stable and working as intended; and

We will not use your information for a purpose unrelated to the one it was collected for unless you would reasonably expect it, or you have given your consent, or we are required or authorised to do so by law.

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers to operate the site. These typically include an email marketing platform (to manage newsletter sign-ups and delivery) and a web analytics provider (to measure site traffic). These providers process data on our behalf and are only permitted to use it to provide their service to us.

6. How we protect your information

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. For example, we retain your newsletter email until you unsubscribe, after which we remove or de-identify it within a reasonable period. Contact-form messages are kept long enough to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.
8. Your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles
Under the APPs you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in every email; and
- Complain if you believe we have mishandled your information.

9. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, such as email and analytics platforms, may store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in countries such as the United States or within the European Union. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs and the protections described in this policy.
10. Children's privacy
This website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
